How to use our Lightbox Features

Start by Finding a video you like and want to add to your lightbox

Step 1: Find a Video that meets your video needs.

Start by searching or browsing for a video that meets your conceptual needs for the project you are working on. You can do this by either doing a Keyword Search (Located at the top of the screen) or by locating a video via our Categories (which you can get to via the link on the left hand side of the screen), Lastly, you can also use our Video Location Map (Also located in the links on the left hand side of the page). Once you find a video that meets your criteria you can View the video Details to find out more about the shot, or you can add that video to your temporary lightbox.

Click on the (+) Plus Symbol to add the video to your lightbox

Step 2: Add a video to your lightbox

Once you find the video you want to add to your lightbox just click on the (+) Plus icon at the bottom of the preview pane to add this video into your lightbox. When the video has been successfully added to your lightbox you will see a yellow box and a message appear to tell your video has been added. Now you have saved a temporary record of this video that you can return to later.

Step 3: Viewing and Saving your Lightbox

Lightboxes are available via the controls at the top right of your screen. This will show you what is currently placed in your lightbox (Cookies must be enabled to save temporary lightboxes). Once a video or set of videos are stored in your temporary lightbox, you will have the option of saving these permanently to your user account. To save your lightbox contents to view on another machine, or to save a collection of clips for an upcoming project, click on the Save Lightbox button on the bottom left of your lightbox to go to the save screen (You must be a registered member to save a lightbox).

Step 4: How would you like to Save your Lightbox?

Once you have clicked Save Lightbox, you will be taken to a screen that will allow you to create a new lightbox, or if you have already saved a lightbox, it will allow you to add additional videos to that lightbox. You can create unlimited lightboxes and these will all be stored in your user account, under My Lightboxes. To create a new lightbox, just type the name of the lightbox and continue. To save into a previously saved lightbox, just click the drop-down menu and find the collection you would like to save into, then continue.

Step 5: Viewing and Managing your Saved Lightboxes

Click on Your Account in the top right navigation menu. If you are not logged in, the system will prompt you to log in first, then once you are logged in, go to My Lightboxes. You will be taken to your saved lightboxes. Here you can add notes to share with friends or colleagues, or to remind you what you saved a particular video for. You can delete entire lightboxes, or you can delete individual video clips from a lightbox.

Step 6: Share your Lightboxes

Once you have saved a lightbox, you can share that lightbox with anybody. Just click the Share icon on the top right of an individual Lightbox and the share dialouge box will pop up. Here you can send a personal message to your friends and colleagues, and share this particular lightbox with up to 10 people at a time. Just fill in the information and submit the form. Then your done.
